The American Emergency Committee for Zionist Affairs (AECZA) was established in 1939 to promote Zionist ideology among the largely non-Zionist US Jewish population.[1] In 1949 it was renamed the American Zionist Council, and registered as a tax-exempt non-profit organization.[2] It was the parent organization of AIPAC.
