Alan Brown is the Scottish National Party MP for Kilmarnock and Loudoun. He defeated the former Labour Party MP for the area Cathy Jamieson with a majority of 13,638 in the May 2015 UK general election. [1]

Jamieson was not alone in her defeat to a Scottish Nationalist candidate, with the election being described as an 'SNP landslide amid almost total Labour wipeout'. [2] Brown was just one of 56 SNP candidates to be successful in the 2015 general election.
