- 27 - Robert Hamill killed in a sectarian attack in Portadown.[1]
May
- 18 - John Harbinson shot dead by the UVF on the Mount Vernon estate.[2] Policing Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan would later link RUC "informant 1" Mark Haddock to the killing.[3]
November
- 9 Raymond McCord Jr. found dead in Ballyduff quarry, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim. he had been murdered by the UVF.[4] Policing Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan would later link RUC "informant 1" Mark Haddock to the killing.[5]
December
- 27 - Loyalist Volunteer Force leader Billy Wright shot dead by the INLA in the Maze Prison.[6]
