Andrew Coppel
Andrew Coppel is the CEO of hotel and leisure chain De Vere Group.
Career
In 1986 Coppel was appointed CFO of jewellers the Ratners Group (now the Signet Group); in 1993 he was appointed CEO of the Queens Moat Houses (now QMH Limited and owned by Goldman Sachs); from 2001 to 2007 he was appointed the non-executive chairman of Tourism Ireland; and Coppel combined this role with being the CEO of the Jockey Club Racecourses.
From 2008 to 2009 he was the chairman and CEO of baking group McCambridge Group; from 2008 to 2011 the non-executive chairman of Premiership rugby club London Irish RFC; and from 2009 to 2011 he was an independent director of housebuilding company Crest Nicholson.
He was been the CEO of hotel and leisure chain De Vere Group since March 2010.[1]
Letter to the Telegraph
On 1 April 2015 Coppel was one of 103 business leaders who wrote to the Telegraph praising the British Conservative Party's economic policies and claiming a Labour government would 'threaten jobs and deter investment' in the UK.[2]
