UK Friends of IDC
UK Friends of IDC is a British charity set up to raise funds for the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya - a private university in Israel with close links to Israeli intelligence and high-tech industry. The charity is run by the solicitor and businessman Gordon Hausmann, who is the sole Trustee and point of contact.
Origins and Activities
UK Friends of IDC was registered with the Charity Commission on 4 April 2003. As of 24 July 2009 it had filed no information with the Charity Commission since it was registered [1] and its accounts were 1727 days overdue. [2] Because UK Friends of I.D.C have at the time of writing not filed any accounts, it is not clear how much funding it has raised or from whom. However, the 2005 account of The R and S Cohen Foundation show that it donated £3,150. [3] (The R and S Cohen Foundation is a charity set up by the British millionaire financier and Labour Party donor Ronald Cohen).
Further information on the UK Friends of IDC can be found in the online newsletter for the Center. The IDC 2003/4 Campus Update refers to a trip to the UK by IDC’s founder Uriel Reichman. It states that during this trip, ‘Uriel Reichman spoke before the Israel Business Club, which Amnon and Malka Leon established in London,’ and that he ‘met with IDC supporters and alumni during the trip aimed at establishing a board of directors for the British Friends of IDC.’ [4]
