Peter Cavanagh
Peter Cavanagh is the former Executive Director of the Cambridge Security Programme (CSP) (2002-2007). Cavanagh returned to England from France, where he lived for fifteen years, in order to develop the CSP.
Cavanagh's was previously EU Consultant for the European Agency for Reconstruction in Kosovo, where he was responsible for a study into higher educational needs for management and business education, as well as for the detailed design and business plan for the new Institute of Management in Prishtina. Prior to this role he was a Director of International Operations for the European Foundation for Management Development (efmd), a leading network based in Brussels. He was responsible for business development and executive direction of major EU-funded educational and management development programmes in Europe, the Arab World, Russia and Ukraine and was appointed by the EC as first Director of its flagship project, the €8.3 million Euro-Arab Management School in Spain.
Cavanagh was also a Managing Director for Petrus Management Services Ltd, a London consultancy firm specialising in strategy, marketing and institutional/organisational development and from 1969 to 1976 he was a Partner at Cavanagh Associates, a London architectural design and planning company. Cavanagh was also a founder member of CAS Ltd, a consultancy in sustainable building, linked to research at Cambridge University.
