Vittorio Agnoletto, MEP

Vittorio Agnoletto (born 06 March 1958, Milano) is an MEP from the Italian Communist Refoundation Party, which is part of Party of the European Left.

  • Specialisation in occupational medicine (1988).
  • Co-founder (1987) and national chairman (1992-2001) of LILA - Italian League against AIDS.
  • Lecturer and director of studies for training courses on AIDS at the Higher Institute of Health in Rome (since 1992).
  • Member of the National Committee on AIDS of the Ministry of Health (1993-2001).
  • Member of the National Coordinating Committee for action to combat drugs established under the Italian Prime Minister's office (1993-2001).
  • Member of the IAS - International AIDS Society (since 1994).
  • Member of the EATG - European AIDS Treatment Group (1994-2000).
  • Works with the IOM - International Organization for Migration - on preventive health projects in the Balkans.
  • Member of the National Secretariat of Democrazia Proletaria in the 1980s.
  • Member of Milan Provincial Council (1990-1995).
  • Spokesman for 'Genoa Social Forum' during the 'G 8' summit in Genoa (July 2001).
  • Member of the International Council of the World Social Forum.
  • Awarded the title 'Doctor of the Year' in 1994 by the journal 'Stampa medica'.
