Adrian Flook, the Conservative Party MP for Taunton from 2001-2005, was paid by FD in 2002 and 2003 as an advisor. Jon Mendelsohn, co-founder of LLM, a public affairs company known for its closeness to the Labour Party, acquired by FD in 2005. In August 2007, Mendelsohn left to become director of General Election resources at he Labour Party and chief fundraiser.

In 2005, FD acquired the PR company, LLM which was known for its closeness to the Labour Party. The renamed agency, which was called FD-LLM, included co-founder Jon Mendelsohn, a former adviser to Tony Blair. In August 2007, Mendelsohn left to become director of General Election resources at he Labour Party and chief fundraiser.
Mendelsohn was later embroiled in Labour’s funding scandal, and faced calls to quit in December 2007 after it was alleged he knew of funding arrangements to fund the Labour party through intermediaries.
