In reply to a Freedom of Information email request in January 2009 regarding his membership of the AEF, the Clerk to the Board of Middlesex University sent the following reply
" in response to your FOI request I can confirm that Sukhbinder Barn is a member of the Advertising Education Forum academic network. He pays no money for being a member and he receives no money for being a member. He joined almost three years ago. He has been contacted once in relation to some research he undertook about product placement in movies. However he has not placed any research material on the website’s repository. There is no correspondence between himself or the lobbying firms mentioned below." [3]
