The Joint Cyber Reserve Force (CRF) is a Ministry of Defence reserve cyber force. According to GOV.UK it has, "since inception in 2013", selected "high calibre cyber sector professionals drawn from industry, private sector, academia and ex-military" on behalf of UK Strategic Command and the single Services.[1]
GOV.UK says Cyber Reservists enhance "Defence Cyber Capability at home and abroad; defending and assuring our platforms, networks and when necessary disrupting our adversaries". Selection is through a Cyber Technical Competency Board. There are five national units across the Royal Naval Reserve, Army Reserve and RAF Reserves, plus two joint units at Corsham and Cheltenham that employ reservists from all three services.[1]
One of the Army elements listed on the same page is the Land Information Assurance Group (LIAG).[1]
