Nationality American
Occupation US Ambassador to Israel
Known for Former governor of Arkansas; support for annexation of the West Bank

Mike Huckabee is the US ambassador to "Israel", appointed by Donald Trump, and a former governor of Arkansas.[1] The BBC reports that he "has frequently expressed his support for Israeli annexation of the occupied West Bank, contradicting decades of US policy".[2]

Tucker Carlson interview, 2026

In an interview released on 20 February 2026, Tucker Carlson asked Huckabee about God's promise to Abraham of land "from the wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates", which Carlson said would cover "Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon" and parts of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Huckabee replied: "It would be fine if they took it all."[1] He then said "Israel" was "asking to at least take the land that they now occupy", and that his remark had been somewhat "hyperbolic".[2]

Fourteen governments, including Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, together with the Arab League, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Gulf Cooperation Council, called the comments "dangerous and inflammatory".[2]
