2016 UK national cyber security strategy


The National Cyber Security Strategy (2016–2021) was a major update backed by £1.9 billion in funding overseen by the National Security Secretariat.

Overview

National Cyber Security Strategy 2016 is a UK government document outlining the country's approach to cyber security for the period 2016–2021.

The strategy sets out how the UK will protect itself from cyber threats, promote economic growth and enhance international cooperation in cyberspace. It was published by the Cabinet Office and builds on previous strategies.

It established the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as the UK's technical authority on cyber security.[1]
