Shai Har-Zvi
Career

As of 2017 Shai Har-Zvi was the head of the intelligence branch in the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, who is responsible for the struggle against BDS. He was “Lieutenant Colonel (Reserve)” in the Israeli army [2] and was one of the contributors toa report “which outlines the Israel lobby’s failures in combating the Palestine solidarity movement – what it smears as a “delegitimization” network.” [2]
The Electronic Intifada find that he was also briefly a researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies. [2]
Education
According to Israel expert Dena Shunra, Har-Zvi received his doctorate in 2015 from Israel’s Bar Ilan University. The subject of his dissertation was Jordanian policy towards Jerusalem. [2]
Activities
- Israeli journalist Yossi Melman revealed in September that the intelligence section of the ministry is run by a former security services operative and receives assistance from “a special unit” within Israeli military intelligence and from the Shin Bet secret police. Melman also reported that the ministry is involved in “black-ops” against the Palestine solidarity movement. The veteran intelligence analyst wrote that the ministry had hired 25 workers whose names are classified.[2]
Additionally, Har-Zvi attended the 3rd steering meeting of Concert Together for Israel, a private company used by the state of Israel to front its campaign against the BDS movement [3], in December 2018 where the following was discussed:
- started working in Europe
- begin working in coordination with 10+ online pro-Israel groups
- building a high-tech platform, providing info to pro-Israel groups
- building a strategy
- building global tool for media campaigns
- setting up media centers in Europe
