In Glasgow, his father and uncles together established Gerber Bros, a warehouse business.'[2] Married Jessie Elizabeth Gerber (nee Humphreys) in 1945 in Cathcart.[3]Married Patricia Mary Anne Gerber (nee Morris) in 1980.[4]
