David Roper is joint founder and executive vice-chairman of Melrose Industries with James Christopher Miller, a firm which buys out struggling business and rejuvenates them to provide better returns for shareholders. [1]
He is also recorded by The Electoral Commission as having donated to Vote Leave, the eurosceptic group in the UK's EU referendum of June 2016.

Donated £10,000 on 4 May 2016 to Vote Leave, the eurosceptic group which successfully withdrew Britain from the EU in the referendum of June 2016. [2]
