Alan Mains is a former [[RUC] and PSNI police officer.

As an RUC staff officer, Mains had worked closely with Chief Superintendent Harry Breen in Armagh for three years before his 1989 murder by the IRA.[1]

In 2002, Mains was promoted to deputy head of the Criminal Investigation Department in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2002.[2] He retired from the PSNI in 2007.[3]

In 2009, he joined CAN Media.[2]
