Tim Farron has been the Liberal Democrats MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005.[1]
In the 2015 election, Farron was just one of eight Liberal Democrats MPs to retain their sears. Farron defeated his closest competitor Conservative candidate Ann Myatt with a majority of 8,949 and 51 per cent of the vote. [2]
In May 2015, Farron announced that he will stand in the Liberal Democrats leadership contest. [3]
