Liam Byrne is the Labour MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill and shadow secretary of state for work and pensions. He was chief secretary to the Treasury in 2009-10.[1]
Controversy
After Labour lost power in 2010, Byrne left a tongue-in-cheek note to the incoming Conservative Party saying 'Dear chief secretary, I'm afraid there's no money left'.[2]
