Richard Arkless is the Scottish National Party MP for Dumfries and Galloway. Arkless won the constituency seat in the 2015 general election in May with a majority of 10,137. The seat was previously held by Labour Party MP Russell Brown, but in the election he failed to gain re-election finishing third behind the Conservative and SNP candidates. [1]
