William Craig (1924-2008) was a unionist politician in Northern Ireland.[1]
In 1972 he founded the unionist pressure group Ulster Vanguard, which was at the forefont of opposition to direct rule from London. From 1974 to 1978 Vanguard operated as a political party, the Vanguard Ulster Progressive Party.[2]
The organisation also had its own paramilitary wing, the Vanguard Service Corps, which later became the Ulster Volunteer Service Corps.[3]
