Davies is currently chairman of the Welsh Affairs Committee as well as vice-chair of the all-party parliamentary China group and a member of the all-party parliamentary British-German group. [1]
Background
Prior to a career in politics, Davies worked for British Steel as well as the Territorial Army where he served for 18 months as a Gunner with 104 Air Defence Regiment at Raglan Barracks Newport. [1]
In 1999 he helped to set up and run the anti-Welsh Assembly campaign. [1] When the Assembly was established he stood for Monmouthshire and promoted his ideals of being against the whole principle of devolution and promised to oppose further powers and stand for the Union.
