Research Councils UK (RCUK) are responsible for investing public money in research in the UK to 'advance knowledge and generate new ideas which lead to a productive economy, healthy society and contribute to a sustainable world.' [1]
Each year the Research Councils invest an estimated £3 billion into research that covers the entire spectrum of academic disciplines, 'from the medical and biological sciences to astronomy, physics, chemistry and engineering, social sciences, economics, environmental sciences and the arts and humanities.' [2]
Affiliations
Research Councils UK is currently a donor to the Science Media Centre according to the SMC. [3]
