John Evans (Lord Evans of Parkside) was made a life peer as a Labour party member of the House of Lords in June 1997 until September 2014. Evans previoulsy worked as the party chair for the Labour Party as well working as an assistant whip at the HM Treasury from 1978-79. [1]
