Activities

In 2000 the company described itself as 'the UK’s leading commercial producer of methane from abandoned coal mines. It operated three sites in the East Midlands and was 'progressing with a major roll-out programme using its concept. Alkane Energy has 18 EXL and PEDL onshore licence areas in the UK which give it exclusive rights over 4,282 km2 with coal mine methane and coal bed methane potential.
