- 11 - Easter Sunday. According to a 1974 briefing for Prime Minister Harold Wilson, "“Plain-clothes teams, initially joint RUC/army patrols, have operated in Northern Ireland since the IRA bombing campaign in Easter 1971."[1]
August
- 18 - 28-year-old Eamonn McDevitt shot dead by the British Army in Strabane.[2]
