American ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro

Daniel Shapiro was sworn in as US ambassador to Israel on 8 July 2011.^[1] According to Haaretz:

Despite the tensions between Obama and Netanyahu, Shapiro maintained close relationships with the prime minister and his close advisers and senior defense ministry officials.^[2]
