Bell Pottinger North was established in 2006 [1] a subsidiary of Bell Pottinger Communications one of the largest public relations companies in the United Kingdom. The North division has offices in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool. [2]
Clients
Public Sector Contracts
- Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT), in 2007 bell Pottinger North won a contract from to help promote the Trust’s public health campaigns, an alcohol awareness campaign ‘Pssst!’, ‘Liverpool Active City’, ‘A Taste for Health’ (tackling obesity) and ‘Roy Castle Fag Ends’ were all under way when the appointment was made. Commenting on the Bell Pottinger North's role Gideon Ben-Tovim, chair of Liverpool Primary Care Trust said: "Next month we are launching our three-year Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy in an effort to tackle the problems of alcohol in the city. Further initiatives are planned across all of our public health campaigns to address issues about obesity and smoking related illness. We are determined to improve the quality of people’s lives.” The Northern office has contracts with other NHS Trusts including: the Walton Centre for Neurology & Neurosurgery NHS Trust | University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust | East Lancashire Primary Care Trust (PCT) | Ashton Leigh & Wigan PCT. - In 2011 advised Stepping Hill Hospital when a nurse working at the hospital was suspected of murder after the death of five patients. No charges were ever brought against the nurse. [4]
