The Free Iraq Council is an Iraqi political party headed by Sa'd Salih Jabr, a Shi'a Muslim and son of former Iraqi Prime Minister Salih Jabr.[1]

In February 2001, the Council announced that it was republishing its paper, Al-Iraq al-Hurr. Jabr stated that "conditions in our country are witnessing serious and important developments at the political and economic levels, in addition to the regime's escalation of its aggressive confrontation with some neighbouring states".[2]
