In 2004 Dignity was Britain's largest provider of funeral-related services. It operated 507 funeral homes throughout Britain, which operated under more than 350 established local trading names. Dignity owned 21 crematoria in the UK and was Britain's leading cremator.[1]

In its company report for 2009, Dignity states that it "owns 550 funeral locations and operates 30 crematoria in the United Kingdom". It adds, "We are a FTSE 250 company listed on the London Stock Exchange, with over 2,200 employees serving families and local communities across the United Kingdom."[2]

Its revenue for the financial year ended 26 Dec 2008 was £175.8 million, up 10% from the previous year. Its underlying operating profit was up 9% to £52.1 million.[3]
