Marian Harkin

Marian Harkin (born 26 November 1953, Sligo) is an independent Irish MEP.
Marian Harkin was nominated for her “outstanding commitment” towards the promotion and support of the estimated 100 million people who work as volunteers in Europe. According to the Parliament Magazine, she is praised for her “exceptional engagement and passion”, and is said to have worked to make politicians and all citizens aware that volunteering is central in building a cohesive and inclusive society based on solidarity and active citizenship.[1]
