Wilsonianism is a term used to describe certain ideological attitudes to foreign policy. The term is named after US President Woodrow Wilson, for his famous fourteen points that he believed could help create world peace if implemented.
Principles of Wilsonian include:
- Self-determination by ethnic groups
- The spread of democracy
- The spread of capitalism
- US intervention on the global stage with the stated aim of creating peace and/or spreading democracy.
