According to an announcement in October 2008 by the LSE Centre for the Study of Global Governance:

Global Policy is an innovative new LSE journal, that brings together world class academics and leading practitioners in the field of global policy. It focuses on the analysis of globally relevant risks and collective action problems; policy challenges that have global impact; competing and converging discourses about global risks and policy responses; case studies of policy which have clear lessons for other countries and regions; the interrelations between policy responses, politics and institutions at the global level; and the necessary conceptual, theoretical and methodological innovations required to understand, explain and develop policy in these areas. It is designed to inform about key developments and changes in global policy by producing solid and credible research that will have an impact on senior policymakers, private and public corporations, non-governmental organisations and international bodies. It will be of invaluable use for academics and their students in global politics, economics, government, international law, international relations and international political economy.
The journal is a joint initiative between Wiley Blackwell and the London School of Economics and will create two new posts for an executive editor and journal manager, both post holders will be based at the Centre for the Study of Global Governance. General editors Professors Patrick Dunleavy and David Held will work with an Editorial Board of senior staff from LSE and other experts, with support from an Advisory Board of leading academic figures in the field. A Practioners’ Advisory Board will be created to help ensure that the journal remains focused on pressing global issues. While based at LSE, the journal is linked to the core institutions of the Global Public Policy Network (GPPN): the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia, Sciences Po in Paris, and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) at the National University of Singapore. The first issue of Global Policy is due in January 2010. There will initially be three issues a year.[1]
