Record of Controversies
Legislation on Pesticides
Liam Aylward was highly concerned about the legislation opposing the use of pesticides for health and environmental reasons. He explained that the possible damage to the large and smaller scale farmers "at such an economically sensitive time" makes it "the most prudent approach to adopt," with the excuse of "protecting local livelihoods." Iverk Produce Ltd (a company dealing in wholesale fruit, vegetables and potatoes) is an important employer in Aylward's constituency.[2][3]
Declaration of Financial Interests
Liam Aylward states in his Declaration of Financial Interests that he has nothing to declare.[4]
Record of Parliamentary Votes
Liam Aylward voted in favour of the parliamentary report "on the development of the framework for the activities of interest representatives (lobbyists) in the European institutions," on 02 April 2008.[5]
