Moscow incident (October 2024)

On 23 October 2024, while serving as Deputy Head of Mission in Moscow, Dodd was involved in a widely publicised physical altercation with Russian journalists and demonstrators at Vnukovo Airport. Video footage shows Dodd grabbing cameras, ripping a journalist’s accreditation badge, and shoving a reporter amid a crowd confrontation shortly after landing.[2][3]

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office condemned the incident as a “shameful” Kremlin-orchestrated stunt intended to intimidate diplomats.[4]
