HN22 is the cipher given to a former manager or 'back office' police officer with the Special Demonstration Squad who was deployed into two branches of one group in late 1980s and early 1990s.[1] The Chair of the Undercover Policing Inquiry, Sir John Mitting, has ruled that both the real and cover names of the officer will be restricted in the Inquiry.[2]
unknown SDS management / back office 20 Feb 2018: directed that restriction orders applications to be submitted by end of Feb 2018.[4] No application made.[5] No application made so real name will be published.
