Michael Jopling

Michael Jopling is Conservative Party member of the House of Lords, having been raised to the peerage in June 1997 and given the title Lord Jopling. [1]
Political career
Jopling was an MP for over 30 years, serving for the constituency of Westmorland from 1964-83 and then Westmorland & Lonsdale from 1983-97.
Alongside this he worked at the HM Treasury in the early 1970s, firstly as assistant whip and then as Lord commissioner. After this, Jopling worked as shadow minister for agriculture, fisheries and food before becoming a minister of state. [1]
