Stephen Phillips is the Conservative MP for Sleaford and North Hykeham. He was elected in 2010 with a majority of 19,905. [1]
In 2009 he was made a Queen's Counsel and Phillips chose to continue to work as a QC private practice after he was elected in 2010. In 2014 Phillips earnt £249,128 according to The Guardian for his legal work alone. [2] Phillips defends his decision to continue working as a lawyer, saying that he 'largely works when the House of Commons is not sitting' and that he believes it 'makes him a better MP as the House of Commons is, after all, making law.'
