Luttons Unis Contre l'Islamisation de l'Europe (LUCIDE) which translates as 'United Struggle Against the Islamiation of Europe' appears to have been formed in the wake of the January 2015 Paris attacks and not long after a similalry named movement Patriotic Europeans Against Islamisation of Europe (PEGIDA) rose to prominence in Germany.

History

LUCIDE's facebook page was set up on the evening of 7 January 2015, the day twelve people were murdered at the offices of the magazine Charlie Hebdo. By 19 January it had approximately 4,200 'likes'. It shared pictures bearing the slogan #JeSuisLucide, attempting to piggyback on the popularity of the hashtag #JeSuisCharlie.

Activities

LUCIDE announced a rally to be held in Lyon on 8 January 2015, under the slogan 'No more deaths! Islam out of Europe'.[1]
