- 18 - John Harbinson shot dead by the UVF on the Mount Vernon estate.[1] Policing Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan would later link RUC "informant 1" Mark Haddock to the killing.[2]
November
- 9 Raymond McCord Jr. found dead in Ballyduff quarry, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim. he had been murdered by the UVF.[3] Policing Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan would later link RUC "informant 1" Mark Haddock to the killing.[4]
December
- 27 - Loyalist Volunteer Force leader Billy Wright shot dead by the INLA in the Maze Prison.[5]
