Ralf Burgstahler joined the REACH Unit of DG Enterprise and Industry in September 2001. Before joining the unit he worked at the Product Safety Department at German chemical giant BASF, in 1998 he became BASF's EU Governmental Affairs Manager. In 2004 he then moved to the German Ministry for Economic Affairs where he was put in charge of REACH.[1]
