Peter Frederick Carter-Ruck (26 February 1914 - 19 December 2003) was an English solicitor specialising in libel cases. He founded the firm Carter-Ruck which is known for aggressively pursuing libel actions on behalf of wealthy clients. After he died in 2003, David Hooper, a former in Carter-Ruck, described Peter Carter-Ruck in the Guardian as a 'dedicated liar and a reactionary with a lust for cash' who 'had a chilling effect on the media.'
