Union pour un Mouvement Populaire (Union for a Popular Movement) is a major right-wing French political party founded on 17 November 2002 by Jacques Chirac as a merger of several right wing parties supporting him. Its current leader Nicolas Sarkozy was elected President of France in 2007.
