Shopping at Lockheed
What You Didn't Know about Amazon
Lockheed Martin are the worlds largest military contractor but they dont get there on personality alone [1]
They paid $9.8 million lobbying members of Congress and the Clinton administration, more than double the $4.2 million the company spent during 1999. During the 1999-2000 election cycle, Lockheed Martin contributed just over $2.7 million in soft money, PAC and individual contributions to federal candidates and parties. More than two-thirds of that money went to Republicans. Lockheed Martin spends more on lobbying Congress than any of its competitors, spending a whopping $9.7 million in 2002. Only General Electric and Philip Morris reported more lobbying expenses. And in the 2004 election cycle, Lockheed contributed more than $1.9 million. [2]
"We never forget who we're working for.TM"
It's not just a tag line - it's the honest sentiment of 135,000 Lockheed Martin employees.[3]
Lockheed have claimed an estimated $105 from each American taxpayer and in November 2000 in SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- On behalf of military contractor Lockheed Martin, Loma Linda University conducted the first large-scale tests of a toxic drinking water contaminant on human subjects -- a precedent medical researchers and Environmental Working Group condemned as morally unethical and scientifically invalid.[4]
So, they do never forget who they're working for.
interestingly enough; just four board membes separate Lockheed Martin and popular website shopping corporation Amazon.com [5]
