"Public Diplomacy strategy for the Middle East - the FCO has appointed a Middle East Public Diplomacy Co-ordinator, Gerry McCrudden, who had started to identify pd opportunities and projects and had had discussions with pd partners. His initial work had also prompted interest from Posts in the wider Islamic world. Various ideas were being considered and steps would be taken to make funds available from the campaign fund to carry these forward".
