PR Business
A PR industry trade magazine which started publication in early 2006 and ceased later that year.
- New magazine PR Business is in a spin. Last December, Roddy Dewe, a founder of Citigate Dewe Rogerson who was responsible for the Tell Sid privatisation campaign, George (now Reverend) Pitcher, formerly of Luther Pendragon, and Sara Pearson, of the PR agency SPA Way, backed plans to create a rival to industry rag PR Week.
- Tory peer Lord Chadlington (Peter Gummer), whose company Huntsworth owns Citigate, thought of getting involved but decided against. It would have meant crossing swords with Lord Heseltine, whose Haymarket owns PR Week.
- Nonetheless, cash was raised and PR Business launched in March under the aegis of PR Week founder Geoff Lace. It's already run into trouble. I hear Lace is negotiating his departure and the backers are considering calling it a day or publishing monthly. Pitcher says: "I wasn't concentrating when I put my money in. I am concentrating now." Oh dear.[1]
