Henrik Rönnquist is a Swedish art gallery owner and leader of Pegida Sweden, an off-shoot of the PEGIDA movement which began in Dresden, Germany.[1]

Views

Rönnquist said to have views similar to the far-right Sweden Democrats, though it is not known if he is a member of the party.[1]

Activities

Race hate conviction

In August 2014 Rönnquist was convicted of inciting racial hatred, after his Malmö art gallery, Rönnquist & Rönnquist, hosted posters by artist Dan Park which, amongst other things depicted black men with nooses around their necks and suggested that Roma community leaders condoned crime.[2]

Pegida Sweden

Rönnquist was described in several media sources as the leader of Pegida Swerige, which held a poorly attended demonstration on 9 January 2015 in Malmö and was hugely outnumbered by anti-racism campaogners.[3]
