Funding
The GWPF is set up as a charity that recieves donations from individuals and charitable foundations. Director Benny Peiser claims that the foundation does not recieve funding "from people with links to energy companies or the companies themselves. He would not reveal how many donors there are, what the maximum donation is or the identity of the doners".[3]
The Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) is an all-party and non-party think tank and a registered educational charity. [4] They state on their website that they are funded entirely by voluntary donations their members and supporters. In order to become a member of the GWPF a mininmum annual fee of £100 p.a is required, however members are encoruged to pay more.
There are however believed to be many unanswered and dodged questions with regards to the funding of the GWPF. For example why 'Dr Benny Peiser,(one of the most ominous figures at GWPF) notorious for his ties to institutions in the US such as the Heartland Institute which have, over the years, received significant sums of money from companies such as Exxon Mobil' [5]. Exxon Mobil Corporation is the world's leading publicly-owned energy company and operates facilities or markets products in most of the world's countries. [6]
