Dear Editor,

I recently read with interest your website [1] and note that you have included references to Robert S Murray. Whilst Mr Murray has no issue with or comment to make regarding the publication of the website per se, he would like to point out that references made about him are incorrect and would be grateful if you would please consider rectifying these. Some of the changes are due to timing and circumstance, others are factual.

Robert Murray is a Director (and former Chairman) of Sunderland FC.

Robert Murray is a Director and Chairman of Sunderland AFC and Plc

He owns 37% of the shares of Sunderland FC (valued at £12 million).

Whilst Mr Murray owns 37% of the company Sunderland PLC delisted from the LSE in August 2004 and therefore there is no listed market capitalisation value for his shareholding.

Sterling Capitol is the property development company, which built the Sunderland 'Stadium of Light' and is involved in the £80 million redevelopment of the Odsal rugby stadium in Bradford.

Whilst Mr Murray was personally involved in the building of the Stadium of Light as chairman of Sunderland AFC ? Sterling Capital was not involved in any way whatsoever. Sterling Capital was also not involved in the redevelopment of Odsal rugby stadium.

He is also the Chairman of Sovereign Capital Corporation and Omega International Group plc (a Doncaster?based furniture group).

Mr Murray is no longer chairman of the Sovereign Capital Corporation but he is the Chairman of Omega International Group Plc, which is a kitchen manufacturer.

Please take these comments in the good faith in which they are meant.

Yours sincerely,

Lesley Callaghan Marketing & Communications Director
