Ahmad Chalabi is an Iraqi politician and the head of the Iraqi National Congress. In 1992, he was convicted in Jordan of making false statements and embezzling $230 million from Petra Bank (his own), for which he was sentenced in absentia to twenty-two years of hard labor. He has close links with the neocons and was a long time proponent of regime change in Iraq.
