Owen Bassett was, in 2023, Deputy Director Government Information Cell (Campaigns) in the Information Threats and Influence Directorate of the FCDO. ITID and the Cell within it are cross departmental intelligence connected hubs.[1]
The Government Information Cell was created in February 2022 and was the successor to the Counter-Daesh Coalition Communications Cell which was involved in the regime change operation against the government of Syria.
